WEB Tamayo Perry, a renowned big-wave surfer, lifeguard, and actor, passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 49 after an apparent shark attack. Perry, an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety, was widely respected in the North Shore community and beyond.
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi expressed his condolences, saying, "WEB was a true waterman and a beloved member of our community. He will be deeply missed." Perry, who grew up on the beaches of Oahu, Hawaii, gained international recognition for his roles in several films, including "Pirates of the Caribbean."
